Prepare and Use
1kg Scone Mix 380ml cold water 3.5kg Scone Mix 1330ml cold water Step 1 Weigh out the required quantity of mix into a mixing bowl. Step 2 Blend in the correct amount of cold water on slow speed until a dough is formed. Scrape down and mix for a further 30 seconds. Step 3 Roll out to 15mm thickness and cut into rounds. Place on a greased baking tray and brush the tops with beaten egg or milk for a glazed finish, (if required). Step 4 Bake in a pre-heated oven at 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5/Fan Oven 170°C for 10-15 minutes or until well risen and golden. All appliances vary, these are guidelines only. For fan assisted ovens cooking times should be reduced. Hints & Tips Baked scones are suitable for freezing. Serve as part of a traditional British afternoon tea with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Try adding sultanas or glace cherries to the dough before rolling out and baking. Why not use to top stewed fruit, then bake in the oven for a perfect cobbler topping.
