Usage
Cooking & Defrost Instructions To Defrost: Defrost your turkey thoroughly for 21-36 hours on a tray in a cool room. When defrosted sufficiently, remove the bag, giblets and neck. Retain the weight label on the front of the bag for exact cooking time. Check there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and that the legs are flexible. If food has thawed, do not re-freeze. Simple tips for delicious turkey Defrost and cook the turkey as per instructions Remove from oven and cover with foil to keep it warm Let your turkey rest for 30 minutes Carve and serve your perfectly succulent turkey Allowing your turkey to rest for 30 minutes gives the juices time to come to the surface, making it more flavoursome and easier to carve. It also gives you time to concentrate on the vegetables, entertain your guests or simply put your feet up for a well deserved break.
Cooking Instructions
- Oven cook From Defrost Oven Roast: 180°C/160°C fan/Gas Mark 4. 1. Place the defrosted turkey in a roasting tin and allow to stand at room temperature for an hour before cooking. 2. Loosely cover the turkey with lightly greased foil. 3. Cook in a pre-heated oven (see temperatures above). 4. Roast for the time specified on the weight label on the front of the bag. 5. Remove foil for the final 1 hour and 30 minutes to allow the skin to become golden and crispy. 6. To ensure your turkey is completely cooked, insert a clean skewer into the thickest part of the meat. If the juices are still pink, return to the oven for a further 15 minutes or until juices run clear. 7. Cover the turkey with foil and rest for 30 minutes prior to carving. Please Note: All appliances vary, these are guidelines only. We advise that you do not stuff the turkey, but cook the stuffing separately.
